Álamos goza de baja contaminación lumínica gracias a su entorno serrano y reducida urbanización. El mirador del cerro es un punto accesible para la observación del cielo estrellado, la Vía Láctea y eventos astronómicos. Se recomienda luna nueva, llevar ropa abrigadora (las noches son frescas) y linterna.
