El ascenso a la cumbre (4,461 msnm) es una de las rutas de alta montaña más populares del centro de México. La ruta principal parte del centro vacacional IMSS Malintzin. Se recomienda salir de madrugada, llevar equipo de abrigo, agua y snacks. Dificultad alta. Consulta requisitos de acceso y posible cuota en el sitio oficial de CONANP.
