Entre enero y marzo, la bahía recibe a miles de ballenas grises que llegan a reproducirse y criar a sus ballenatos. Tours en pangas salen desde Puerto San Carlos y Puerto López Mateos; los guías locales se acercan con cuidado a los cetáceos. Los avistamientos son de corta distancia y muy emocionantes.
