La vegetación de selva baja caducifolia que rodea el sitio es hogar de una rica avifauna yucateca, incluyendo tucanes, flamencos en épocas migratorias y diversas aves endémicas. Llevar binoculares y recorrer los senderos en la mañana maximiza el avistamiento. El acceso es con el boleto general de la zona arqueológica.
