Annantalo Art Saturday: Hehkuvat hahmot – Glowing Characters comes to Annantalo Arts Centre in Helsinki. Annantalo Art Saturdays allow the whole family to spend time together enjoying art in open workshops – stop by briefly or stay for a longer visit. This time, Annantalo Art Saturday takes us on a journey into the world of shadow theatre and silhouettes. What kind of a shadow do you cast on the wall? By using silhouettes, we create figures in various shades of red, radiating strength and emotion, for the windows of Annantalo. Glowing Characters is one of the workshops linked to the jointly created ‘Spectrum’ artwork In autumn 2026, Annantalo’s workshops and art groups will create a collaborative light art installation entitled Spectrum. This workshop is one of many in which different parts of the work are created. Come and make your contribution to the window installations to be displayed on the Annankatu side, glowing in the different colours of the spectrum. The opening ceremony for the Spectrum light installation will be held on 9 December at 18.00, illuminating the windows of Annantalo in a blaze of colour. Come and join us in building our shared spectrum! No prior skills are needed to participate, and all are welcome. Hearing protection and other sensory aids are available for children when needed. There is also a quiet room in the premises. Annantalo Art Saturdays are free-of-charge and suitable for participants from all language backgrounds. The workshop will be hosted by Annantalo art educators. We look forward to seeing you at Annantalo on Saturdays!
