Los faldeos de la Sierra El Viejo permiten caminatas entre saguaros, órganos, cholla y palo verde, con vistas abiertas al desierto de Altar. El terreno es irregular y rocoso, por lo que se recomienda calzado adecuado, agua suficiente y acudir acompañado. La mejor época es de octubre a abril, evitando el calor extremo del verano.
