Ian Prowse and the Fiddle of Fire
About the event
Ian Prowse is a Liverpool singer‑songwriter known for blending Celtic folk, rock, and socially conscious storytelling. He first broke through in the early 1990s with his band Pele, whose violin‑driven indie sound earned them a cult following. In the 2000s he formed Amsterdam, scoring a UK Top 40 hit with "The Journey" and writing his most celebrated song, "Does This Train Stop on Merseyside?", famously championed by John Peel and later covered by Christy Moore. He has collaborated with artists such as Elvis Costello, Damien Dempsey, and Miles Hunt. Today he tours with both a full‑band - (Amsterdam), and for our show as an intimate duo format the Celtic‑leaning "Fiddle of Fire", continuing a career built on passion, integrity, and powerful live performance.Fiddle of Fire is not a separate band so much as a focused, stripped‑back, high‑intensity version of his Amsterdam/Pele experience, built for intimate rooms and storytelling-heavy shows. This is a standing gig - there will be chairs available for anyone with mobility issues Age 18+
