La escasa contaminación lumínica de las zonas rurales de Jerécuaro permite disfrutar de cielos oscuros ideales para la observación astronómica. En noches despejadas (especialmente en época seca) es posible observar la Vía Láctea a simple vista. Se recomienda llevar telescopio o binoculares y una aplicación de cartografía estelar.
