John Fairhurst + Saint Senara
About the event
Our favourite one man world blues rock explosion is back at Maker for a rare gig! Drawing deeply from blues, rock, folk and world music, with a penchant for slide guitar and a distinctive deep growling voice, the songs and virtuoso guitar playing of John Fairhurst, delivered in pure raconteur style, narrate all the wild first hand experiences of a life on the road. After a 5 year hiatus, John powered back onto the scene in 2024, playing in 11 countries across Europe over the summer at numerous festivals, venues and theatres. He is overjoyed to be back doing what he does best. Hailed by Acoustic Guitar Magazine USA as one of the Top Resonator guitar players worldwide, John has released 5 albums over the last 10 years as both a solo artist and with his full electric band. ‘The Divided Kingdom’, was released in April 2019 to international critical acclaim. + support from award-winning singer songwriter duo Saint Senara, whose music spans dirty blues rock, southern gothic Americana, dark folk and country. The pair have received widespread critical acclaim for their cinematic, genre-defying sound; 'chainsaw' Gretsch guitar tone; ethereal harmonies; and spellbinding lyrics, as well as their mesmerising on-stage chemistry and ability to make a big live sound with just two people, a guitar and a tambourine. In 2025, they won Rock Song of the Year in the inaugural Uncle Paul Awards in Nashville, Tennessee for their song ‘There’s A Storm Coming’ and were finalists for Duo of the Year in the UK Country Music Awards. Their ‘Dark Water EP’ was named ‘one of the best releases of 2025’ and was a finalist for Single/EP/Mini Album of the Year in the Fatea Magazine Awards. And they were longlisted for Emerging Artist of the Year in the UK Blues Awards. --------------- Patchwork Studios operate a diverse and inclusive programme of creative events. Lil Pizza Heaven are usually parked up on site on a Saturday evening too to keep you fuelled. Why not make a weekend of it while you’re here? The Canteen opens at 9:30am the next morning for coffee and breakfast, and during the camping season, you'll find delicious homemade scran to keep your bellies full into the evening, over by the campsite entrance. The twin fishing villages of Kingsand and Cawsand are only a short walk away, as are their lovely beaches, and the Southwest Coast Path runs straight past too.
