Born in Malaysia and raised in Australia, New York-based bassist and composer Linda May Han Oh is one of the most dynamic forces in modern jazz. A master of both acoustic and electric bass, Oh graduated with first-class honors from the WA Academy of Performing Arts before earning her Master's from the Manhattan School of Music. Her exceptional artistry has earned her an ASCAP Young Jazz Composer's Award, an honorary mention at the Thelonious Monk Bass Competition, and a coveted spot as the bassist for guitar legend Pat Metheny. A brilliant educator and prolific composer, Oh has performed alongside jazz titans including Joe Lovano, Kenny Barron, Vijay Iyer, and Terri Lyne Carrington. She joins forces with visionary masters Ambrose Akinmusire and Tyshawn Sorey for an unparalleled night of world-class, boundary-pushing improvisation.
