Love, Loss, And What I Wore
About the event
'Love, Loss, and What I Wore,' is a play by Nora and Delia Ephron. Based on Ilene Beckerman's 1995 book of the same name, this production delves deep into themes of love, loss, identity, and the connections between clothing and one?s personal history. Since its debut in 2008, the play has resonated with audiences through its very relatable narratives. The stories work seamlessly between topics such as first dates, weddings, heartbreaks, and the bittersweet nature of love. The characters reflect on how certain garments are tied to significant memories: a favorite dress worn while trying to impress a crush, perhaps a blouse that evokes bittersweet memories of a grandmother, or a wedding gown that embodies hopes and dreams. Clothing serves as a symbol of different chapters in their lives, underscoring the idea that what we wear is not merely fabric but a canvas that represents who we are in various stages of our lives. This performance will be held on the Westwego Cultural Center stage adjacent to the WPAT. Seating is General Admission. No refunds or exchanges.
