About the event
Cada año en la noche del 1 al 2 de noviembre, Janitzio es escenario de una de las celebraciones de Día de Muertos más auténticas y conmovedoras del mundo: los pescadores atraviesan el lago con antorchas y redes de mariposa mientras las familias velan a sus difuntos en el cementerio. Declarada Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial por la UNESCO; acceso libre aunque se requiere llegar con anticipación por la afluencia masiva.
