Teatro Universitario de la UG, Entremeces Cervantinos sube a escena en Plaza de San Roque, en Guanajuato. En el cartel: Entremeses Cervantinos y Festival Internacional Cervantino. La puesta en escena que hoy conocemos tiene sus raíces en 1953, cuando el Teatro Universitario comenzó a presentarse bajo la dirección de Enrique Ruelas. Estas breves piezas teatrales, llenas de ingenio y sátira, dan vida a personajes populares y escenas cotidianas que, con mordaz ironía, revelan las contradicciones y tensiones de la sociedad de su época. Declarado Patrimonio Cultural Intangible del Estado, el Teatro Universitario nació de la pasión genuina de estudiantes, docentes y autoridades de la Universidad de Guanajuato quienes se reunían en el Estudio del Venado, lugar donde artistas y letrados del Guanajuato entre 1942 y 1947, realizaban tertulias y concebían proyectos artísticos, culturales y literarios.
