About the event
WARHAUS comes to Amager Bio in København S. A night of live rock. Warhaus, the musical project of Maarten Devoldere, returns with The Donkey and a new tour that brings him to Amager Bio. The album marks a new chapter in his distinctive world of dark, sophisticated pop. While previous releases often leaned into the elegant and cinematic, these new songs carry a more immediate and physical energy. Hypnotic lyrics, raw vocals, and rhythms inspired by South African Gqom come together in a sound that is both captivating and unpredictable. The singles Simple Pleasures and The Baby point in different directions, highlighting the album's range. One gravitates towards the stylish and melodic, while the other embraces something more intense and unruly. On stage, however, it is not a question of one or the other. Warhaus brings these contrasts together and allows them to coexist. Audiences can look forward to a concert where new material from The Donkey meets the songs that have established Warhaus as one of the leading names on the European indie and art-pop scene. The result is a live show that moves between reflection and momentum, between careful composition and instinctive spontaneity. With The Donkey, Warhaus opens the door to a universe where control and chaos constantly challenge one another, and where the music is free to take unexpected turns. When: Saturday, February 13, 8:00 pm, at Amager Bio (Øresundsvej 6, København S).
