Chinese Mainland Film Panorama 2026: "Into the Mortal World" llega a East Kowloon Cultural Centre (The Spot), en Hong Kong. Director: Zhong Ding Screenwriter: Kang Fu Dubbing: Xie Jiajun, Chen Yinghui, Chan Yan, Huang Zhi-cong, Cheng Lai Lai Produced by Guangdong Winsing Company Limited, Bilibili, Alibaba Pictures (Beijing) Co., Ltd. 2024 | Colour | 118′ In Cantonese with Chinese and English subtitles Short Film after the Feature Not only is Into the Mortal World the first film to take the mythological elements of the 28 Constellation Mansions to the big screen, it’s also a re-interpretation of the famous The Cowherd and the Weaver Girl mythology. This iteration tells the story of Jinfeng, a descendent of the Weaver Girl who forms a “constellation collecting” alliance with her long-lost sister Yulu (Xiaofan). Together, they embark on an adventure that also highlights the theme of family affection. The film originally began as a same-title graduation short film, Into the Mortal World (7′), of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts (GAFA) in 2020. Thanks to the hard work of over 2,000 animation artists over 5 years, the film became the first GAFA graduation film to become a commercial feature film.
