Inspired by tabletop roleplaying games, and informed by First Nations lore and cultural ideology, this immersive, free adventure at the UTS Data Arena utilises 360 visuals and 3D sound to drop you right in the middle of the Game Master’s world. Created by Wonnarua writer-directors and sisters, Maddison and George Coles, deep community consultation, and led by an all First Nations team, Dungeons & Damper: Inside the D20 places groups of 10 to face the power of a Creation Spirit. With the impact of mining on Country and a lack of environmental care, the Spirits of Country have decided to teach a lesson. Showcasing the importance of traditional stories in the modern landscape, this journey recognises Indigenous culture as a continuous culture that weaves teachings through past, present, and future. Unmissable for lovers of tabletop role-playing games and fantasy nerds alike, this one-weekend-only event runs in sessions, with bookings free but essential. This free event features wheelchair access, a hearing loop, and Relaxed Screenings for attendees who may benefit from a modified sensory environment. If you are attending with a Companion Card, please book a ticket for your companion during registration, as capacity is limited. To help us support your experience, we recommend arriving early and letting our staff know about any access requirements when you arrive. Relaxed Screenings Relaxed Screenings are scheduled for this event at 2:15pm, 4:15pm, 6:15pm. A Relaxed Screening is a modified version of the screening, designed for audience members who may find traditional screenings overwhelming. The Relaxed Screenings have a relaxed attitude to noise and movement, there will be minor changes to sensory elements of the screening such as reducing bright lighting or loud noises and the venue doors remain open and the house lights remain on, but dimmed, throughout the screening.
