Greasy Gravy is the acoustic styled trio of Matt Hendricks and Rick Sherry, and Beau Sample. Matt leads the band (vocals, fingerpicking and slide guitar) and is a veteran of the Chicago solo acoustic scene. Rick (washboard, harmonica, clarinet, jug, and kick drum) has also been a Chicago fixture, playing old American music with Devil In A Woodpile, Sanctified Grumblers, The Hat Stretchers, Hillbilly Frolic, and as an accompanist of delta blues legend David Honeyboy Edwards for many years. Beau Sample plays upright bass and is a prolific bottom man who plays with a huge number of bands in Chicago and throughout the national indie music scene (too many to name!). Its a natural match due to the trios shared love and output of the pre-war genre and Matts storied originals.
