The Ascent Your ascent begins in the Switch Room where a 360-degree film tells the story of Battersea Power Station through the decades, from its heyday as a working coal-fired power station to its closure in 1983, the various different proposals put forward to regenerate the site and its rebirth as a vibrant new riverside neighbourhood for London.
