9月5日 星期六Catoctin Mountain Park

9月5日 星期六Catoctin Mountain Park
Learn about nearly two decades of African American history that took place in Camp Round Meadow through an interpretive walking tour. This program will cover key structures that served as the background of government and regional National Park Service initiatives that saw a large amount of African American participation. Round Meadow became a hub for African American activity through hosting the Catoctin Job Corps Center, Summer in the Parks program, and the DC Environmental Outdoor Laboratory between 1965 and 1981. Join us for the tour in front of the Blacksmith Shop in Round Meadow. The program will last approximately 45 minutes and attendees are recommended to bring comfortable walking shoes, water, and weather appropriate clothing.
